VWR SCBMF-2020 Laboratory Freezer

VWR SCBMF-2020 laboratory freezer, an upright single-door general purpose -20 C freezer used for routine cold storage of laboratory samples and reagents. The unit is a free-standing, floor-model cabinet on casters with a full-height solid door, lockable handle and a top-mounted controller/alarm panel. The nameplate on the unit lists 115 V, 5.0 A, 60 Hz, single phase power, a 1/3 HP compressor and R134a refrigerant (6.7 oz charge), with the assembly UL listed for laboratory refrigerators and/or freezers (BioScience MFG model MFB-2020). The cabinet is nominally 20 cu ft and this unit carries serial SYM-WB23862137-1212. Earlier units of this model were supplied with wire interior shelves and molded door shelves; interior contents of this unit are not shown in the photos. The field user recorded the machine as the VWR -20 C freezer from Lifordi, NH, lot 32. Photo 1 shows the freezer in service in a laboratory alongside other cold storage units, with facility labels, an emergency contact sheet and a remote monitoring sensor tag applied to the door; these are facility markings and not part of the equipment. Operation was not demonstrated in the photos and no condition statement was recorded, so the unit should be verified on inspection.
