IMA - BFB End of Line Vial Packing Line for Multi-packs of Vials

Line was not used commercially. Only test runs were conducted.
  • One leg of the packaging line was running single vials into a single carton with automatic case packer (see listing 1102576)
  • The other leg of the packaging line was running multi-packs (10 vials per tray) with automatic case packer (this listing)
    Vial Filler is listed separately (see listing 1094854)
  • The line was going to run glass containers in 50ml and 100ml sizes

    Tray Loader
  • Manufacturer: IMA / BFB

  • Robot number 1 picks-up one bottom tray from the tray magazine and deposits it on the
    conveyor belt.
  • The bottom tray placed on the conveyor belt advances of one pitch and the robot number 2
    picks up 5 vials arranged in row on the transport screw and places the 5 vials inside the bottom tray
  • After the first row of vials are placed the robot picks up 5 more vials arranged in step on the transport screw and deposits the second row of 5 vials inside the bottom tray that is now completed with 10 vials.
  • The tray proceeds to the next station where the camera checks its completeness (i.e. the presence of 10 bottles)
  • Robot number 3 picks-up a booklet from the magazine and, while gripping the booklet, picks-up
    the top tray from the tray magazine and places both on the vials presentation.

    Case Packer

  • Flat blank is picked up from case magazine and pre-folded. Presentation arriving from the TLS in
    front of the introduction station is withdrawn from the introduction group.
  • The presentation (infeed product) is rotated 90° and transferred inside the pre-folded blank.
  • After the product is loaded the lateral case flaps on the insertion side are folded and glue is applied on upper flap.
  • External lateral flaps are closed and folded inside the presentation; superior flap is then folded, so the case is completely formed.
  • The closed case exits the MMP400 and moves to the labeler. During this movement, the case is rotated 90° to allow the label application in correct position.
  • Corner style label on cases with camera verification
  • Automatic reject on case discharge with reject verification.
