Equipment Description

Cole-Parmer Techne 3Prime (product code 3PRIMEG/02) benchtop gradient thermal cycler for PCR and other temperature-cycled molecular biology protocols. The unit is a compact, self-contained instrument with an adjustable-pressure heated lid and a color touchscreen interface for program setup and monitoring. The 3PrimeG gradient configuration accepts 48 x 0.2 mL microtubes, 30 x 0.5 mL tubes, or a half 96-well plate in horizontal format, with a block temperature range of approximately 10 to 100 degrees C and a 4 degrees C final hold. Programs can be stored in internal memory and transferred by USB stick or to a PC. Nameplate electrical rating is 100-240V, 50/60 Hz, 155W max, single phase, with a standard IEC line cord. Photo 3 shows the rear identification label reading Prime Thermal Cycler, Product Code 3PRIMEG/02, Serial No. 36277, Cole-Parmer Ltd., Made in the UK, and a CE mark. The unit is shown standing on a bench with its power cord attached and the orange-trimmed touchscreen and front USB port visible; no accessories, tube racks or documentation are shown in the photos.
